Frontend Engineer

Role Overview

Aloft (formerly Kittyhawk) makes it easy to manage a drone program that’s safe, compliant and reliable. Our platform consists of easy to use mobile apps, desktop tools and an API that keeps teams flying safe and their data organized. Companies use Aloft to manage their fleet, fly missions, and capture data.

We’re looking for a driven, detail-oriented Frontend Engineer with an interest in aviation who sweats the details. They’ll need to be an experienced frontend developer and problem solver. Someone who is used to working at a startup and collaborating with other teams in a pivotal role in bringing the UI of our web management system to life.

Role

  • Collaborate with our Product, Design, Customer Service, and Engineering teams to provide an experience that is both beautiful and impactful
  • Improve user experience and developer efficiency using modern technologies such as React, Redux, WebGL, Service workers, and more
  • Contribute to the development of API endpoints in collaboration with our backend team
  • Work with design to deliver impactful user experiences based on use cases, customer workflows and design mocks
  • Contribute to front-end engineering best practices, including testing patterns, extensible architectures, and web performance techniques
  • Investigate and resolve issue reports in coordination with customer success

Requirements

  • Excellent JavaScript, ES6+, Redux, and React skills
  • Master of HTML, CSS, and other display-centric web technologies
  • Strong tech design skills for developing approaches for feature implementations
  • Familiarity with cross-browser compatibility and client-side performance
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills for working with remote teams
  • Intermediate knowledge in building single page frontend applications with reusable components
  • Experience with researching and implementing third party integrations
  • Familiarity with implementing restful APIs
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a frontend developer
